At 29, Charlie Is The World's Oldest Cat

We recently met the world's longest cat, and now here comes the world's oldest!

Charlie the cat is poised to set a new record for his staggering age of 29. That's nearly 133 in cat years! Charlie's owner, Sina Graham, has had him since he was a six-week-old kitten, and can't imagine her life without him.

The Scottish Sun reports:

"Charlie went with Sina to cover Nelson Mandela's release in South Africa in 1990 and accompanied her to Kuwait for the first Gulf War and to the Lebanon-Israeli conflict. Charlie - who discovered his taste for tea after stealing some left on a kitchen counter - was even on Air Force One during Bill Clinton's presidency."

The previous record holder, a 23-year-old cat named Hestia, died in August.
