You Oughta Know: Stewie, The World's Longest Cat

The Guiness Book of World Records has just named a new world's longest domestic cat. 5-year-old Maine Coon kitty, Stewie, measures 48.5 inches from the tip of his nose to the tip of his tail. That's just over 4-feet long!

Stewie lives in Reno, Nevada with his awesome owners, Robin Hendrickson and Erik Bransness. When asked about their hopes for Stewie's future, this is what they had to say:

"First and foremost, if Stewie doesn't want to do something, we will not make him. We hope that Stewie can bring joy to others like he has brought to us. We would also hope that he could help the Silver Cats Club to help other organizations. We hope that people will come and see him... he really likes people, especially kids. We hope that maybe Stewie can visit classrooms, to help awareness of animal welfare. We also would hope that he continues to be the great guy he is. But it wouldn't hurt to see his picture on a bag of cat food. Or maybe sponsorships to cat shows. I think it would be great if Stewie was known worldwide. Mostly though, I hope he makes people smile."

Wow, that's one tall tabby! Check out the entire interview with Stewie's owners over at RGJ.com.
