The second Monday of the year signals Coming of Age Day in Japan, an annual celebration held to "congratulate and encourage" young people turning twenty years old and marking their entrance into adulthood. This adorable news report profiles a similar "4-legged" version of the event that celebrates cats and dogs turning one.
One women who brought her cat to the recent ceremony told Reuters, "This cat's previous owner abandoned him, so I want to give him a big celebration to mark this milestone and wish him a long life."
