First up, my friend Candy sent over some pictures of her two tuxedo colored cuties. Candy writes, "The first is my 10-year-old, Felicity, the second is 3-year-old Austin."
"Felicity is still like a kitten which I love...she was the runt of the litter so she's kind of petite for an "old lady"! But, she fetches the furry mice and water bottle caps whenever I throw them! It was our little thing since she was 6-weeks-old, and she still does it. Sometimes if I'm really preoccupied on the computer or watching TV, she'll find a mouse in her toy basket, put it in her mouth and come by me and just sit there waiting for me to start the game!"
I love how handsome Austin has little white mittens in the front, and knee socks in the back! Candy also tells me that this very groovy pair were named after Austin Powers characters, and I think they both sure look a lot more cuddly than Dr. Evil's cat, Mr. Bigglesworth!

Next up, reader Karen writes in to say, "Calvin’s had a rough week so he’s not coming out of his box until Caturday."
Aww, it's ok, pretty boy! Caturday has arrived, so it's safe to come out for a bit! I don't think any of us really blame him though, Karen! A box condo doesn't sound so bad right now!

On a more somber note, we just found out that our friend Mickey lost his battle with cancer yesterday. Mickey was 18-years-old, and a beloved member of the Cat Blogosphere. We're sending out lots of love and purrs today to his family, and all who loved him.
Also, we continue to feel great sadness over the recent events in Japan. Please keep the people of this beautiful country in your thoughts, and click here for a list of ways to help. In addition, The American Humane Association, SPCA International, and Animal Refuge Kansai are also accepting donations to aid animal victims of the disaster.

As always, very special thanks goes out to Candy and Karen for taking the time to share their little furry bits of sunshine with us this week!

ReplyDeleteThese are great photos. Calvin looks a little like he's still half asleep in that box. And Felicity is sitting there so patiently, waiting for a chance to play with that toy.
ReplyDeleteBowie will often sit like that, too. Only he's not waiting to play with a toy; he wants you to get up to feed him.
Such a bunch of cuties! I feel so bad for everyone in Japan. And sweet Mickey, sad, just so very sad.
ReplyDeleteExcellent photos you guys!
ReplyDeleteSuch beauties!
ReplyDeleteOur thoughts are with those in Japan, too.
Thanks for joining WCB. I am so saddened by the news of Mickey. And I can not stop watching CNN, it is so heartbreaking.
