Happy Caturday, everyone! This week we're getting to know a lovely young kitty named Fernita, who just celebrated her first birthday! Little Miss Fern is "fierce, feisty, and fashion-forward," and shares a very special relationship with her owner, who loves her very much. I'll let her super awesome mama, Sarah fill you in on all the rest!

Fern is a fierce, feisty, and fashion-forward feline. I brought her home when she was eight weeks young and I'll admit, I may have spent the first day on my couch in tears thinking, "I can't do this! What am I going to do with her?!" but I quickly cleaned myself up from that meltdown and got to playing with this adorable ball of fuzz. Now the question these days is, "What would I do *without* her?!"
Fern has helped heal my heart from a hard breakup and supported me through the roughest months of my life. She is extremely brave, smart, and kind of a bitch sometimes. My friends say that she is perfectly suited for me. Even though her toughness has made it difficult (she likes to attack at random and is not dissuaded by spray bottles, loud noises, or screeches of pain), I know that she has a tremendous amount of love for me (she constantly gives me licks and protects our space from strangers).
We'll be moving to Vancouver, BC from Oakland, CA in the fall and I know she'll handle the transition like a champ. My boyfriend is allergic to cats but he has never once brought up the subject of finding her a new home. He knows that she is my heart... and that he may not like who I choose to give up when faced with such a decision!
Mama loves you, Fern!
BELLEH!!
Rawr!
Well, it sounds like Sarah not only has one amazing cat in her life, she also has one very understanding boyfriend, too! Thank you to her for submitting pics this week, and let's all send lots of love and purrs out to Fern, in hopes that she had a wonderful first birthday!

ReplyDeleteThat Santa suit was definitely worth it!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely little cat. Shame she was taking from her mum at 5 weeks. No wonder she's a trouble fluff at times!
ReplyDeleteOh, my goodness! I don't know where to start with my comments. She is beautiful, has a great purrsonality, and I'm glad you introduced us to her and her mom, Catsparella! I really enjoy meeting your special friends. Hugs to all, including the boyfriend for being so accepting!

Adorable kitties. We are just bunny hopping around the blog hop and stopped to say Hi. Paw waves from Albert and Frodo.
ReplyDeleteFern sounds like a fantastic kitty! We think feisty ones are the BEST!
ReplyDeleteAwwwww The bunny and Fern photo is too adorable. Fern is gorgeous; inside and out. What preciousness. It's amazing what your fur babies can help get you through and take you further than you've ever expected. I wish both Fern and her mama all the love and happiness life has to offer. Mama's bf is a trooper and a good man. Many blessings. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteLove your photos. It was fun to watch her grow up through the photos. As far as her stalking you, from my experience as a cat mum, they all do that. Eventually they grow out of it, or not. Remembered ; you can take the cat out of the wild, but you'll never get all the "wild" out of the cat. Kokoro's mum
ReplyDeleteYay! Thank you all for your sweet comments. I love my little Fernie and it has been such an amazing year watching her grow out of kittenhood. I'm hoping there are many more years in store for us-- I love her so much and am so happy to share her with you all through this fabulous site!!!
ReplyDeleteI completely fell in love with Fern! I love my "tabby girls"....I would do the same thing if I were faced with giving up the guy or the cat...even being married it's a no brainer...the GUY would go! :)
