At risk of sounding like a fuddy-duddy, or someone all outta whack about this idea, I just don't think it's right and feel compelled to say so.
ReplyDeleteSure, its season 4, BUT WHY draw attention to special breeds of cats, when there are so many 'normal' cats - helpless and homeless, in rescue groups and in shelters who need to be saved?
A TV show with national attention should not be a selling agent for cat breeders. ESPECIALLY when others have to die . . .
Kokoro's mum here- We like to think any positive attention to cats can lead to good things. Kokoro is a purebred rag, I purchased from an amazing women who is a registered breeder. Not only was she involved in large animal rescue, currently trains therapy dogs and teach me how to train Kokoro to be a pet-assisted therapy cat she knows more about cats than anyone I've ever met. The operative word is -registered breeder. She has made it possible for both Koko and me to be part of the volunteer program with the San Diego Humane Society.
ReplyDeleteI for one can't wait to see the show, I've never even heard of most of those breeds.
ps -i also have and have had many rescue kitties to. They are like potato chips after all. ~: )
