This week, I recapped my visit to the Garden State Cat Club Show & Expo, my friend Alison headed South to the cat mecca of Key West, Rachel shared the story of her friend's Fungus cat tribute tattoo, Seth MacFarlane put his Family Guy money to good use helping homeless kitties, Taking Back Sunday spoofed the OMG Cat YouTube video, National Geographic released clips from the upcoming Cat House on the Kings documentary, and Maru's fans plotted his takeover of the next Mac operating system.
We also coveted Catwoman Converse, found out what happens when I try to photograph my kitties, and I profiled Natalie and Tashi, two more of the amazing feline residents of Tabby's Place Cat Sanctuary.
Please, please, please, if you aren't already, vote for me every day, two times a day, now through July 29th, in the category of Best Social Integration Blog at http://www.dogtime.com/petties. If I win, I'll donate the $1,000 prize to Tabby's Place, to help provide care for the cats they rescue from hopeless situations. I know I've been singing this song a lot lately, but we're in the home stretch now, and every vote counts!

Joey
This week's featured kitty is as sweet as a bowl of peaches n' cream, and has the biggest, most golden eyes and the sweetest, most pinkest nose I've ever seen!
Christine writes, "This is my sweet boy, Joey, a cream-colored tabby. We adopted him from the SPCA when he was 4-months-old and a very shy, scared boy. He has become very loving and especially enjoys sitting on his "Dad's" lap.
Hanging out with Dad..so cute!

Ready for a Caturday nap
Special thanks to Christine for sharing her precious cup o' Joe(y) with us this week! It's clear that he's found the purrfect home with she and her husband, and it's wonderful to see how their love and patience turned this scared little kitten into a confident young Mancat!

P.S. You know I love a good Caturday update, and that's just what I got when Ginger sent over this precious snap of her kitty Luna sitting so sweetly at the dinner table (if you recall from her original Caturday post, this was one of the "skills" she was trying to teach her!).
Luna
Ginger writes, "Surprise! I managed to get a shot of Luna sitting like a lady at the table today! So far, so good! She sat patiently while the family ate dinner (we're "vacationing" at my parents) waiting for a little morsel without being obnoxious."
Way to go, Luna! First the dinner table, then the world!

ReplyDeleteJoey has touched my heart. I have a soft spot for skitish kitties. He reminds me of my Skittles. When he came to us he was afraid of everyone and everything, he still is around most people, but those that have had the love and patience to gain his trust and confidence. I am happy to hear Joey found such a warm and loving family. Bless your hearts.
ReplyDeleteJoey is very cute and sounds like he has a great home. I am sympathetic to shy cats, too.
ReplyDeleteWe got a bit excited to see that last photo, too - another black cat named Luna! :)
And thanks for stopping by for our 5th anniversary earlier this week!
Joey is so cute!! I love the photo of him sitting like he is human :-)
ReplyDeleteLove Joey and Luna! I think Luna sitting pretty at the table is pretty cool, but it would be even more awesome if she could do it with some food on the plate! MOL.
ReplyDeleteBTW, thank you for inspiring my post yesterday. I wrote about Willow the wheelchair kitty! I just adore her, and her story is so amazing, so I wanted more people to know about her.
Joey is a handsome guy!! His eyes are amazing!!
ReplyDeleteJoey is a good looking Mancat. Beautiful eyes and what a great pink nose!
ReplyDeleteCaturday is great :-) I love the pictures especially the one with Joey sitting up as a person !
ReplyDeleteNice to meet you Joey and I loved the update on Luna!
ReplyDeleteGreat pictures. Luna looks so much like Cecil, peeking over the edge of the table!
