If encountering the flashing eyes of your own cat in a dimly lit hallway weren't startling enough, imagine walking down a city street, only to be faced with a pack of demon-eyed pussycats gazing menacingly back at you in the darkness.
Art collective Ojo Señor recreated the dastardly effect of tapetum lucidem, or eyeshine, on posters studded with LED lights that were hung around the streets of Barcelona. The idea came to them "one night when they saw a cat staring at them with shiny eyes," and was inspired by a quote from Edgar Allan Poe's short story, The Black Cat.
"Upon its head, with red extended mouth and solitary eye of fire, sat the hideous beast whose craft had seduced me into murder, and whose informing voice had consigned me to the hangman." ~ Edgar Allan Poe, The Black Cat

Oohhh! I like this idea. I think I will make some cat cut outs with led lights for Halloween decorations this year.
