This week, we stocked up on cat themed school supplies, met ten busy cats who work hard for the kibble, marveled at creative cat commercials from France and Japan, were dazzled by super cute kitty manicures, learned where to get Maru's rain poncho look-for-less, investigated the latest in high tech cat toys, drank some booze for big cats, protected our iPhones with cross-stitch kitty cases, and kicked off the start of New York Fashion Week with some chic cat shoes, made for the lady with the ultimate feline fetish. Me-ow!
Also, don't forget we have another giveaway going on right now, where three lucky readers will score a box of Amazing Treat Machine Rollers! Click HERE to check out Charlie's review, and get your entry in before I draw the winners this coming Wed. 9/14!
Michi the Wild
First up this week, Susan sent in a picture of her 3-year-old Bengal mix, Michi. She says that he is "personality PLUS!", and "more Bengal than mix."
Well, I can't confirm if he's more Bengal than mix, Susan, but I can say that's he's 100% cutie pie! Look at that sweet little face, you guys! I just wanna kiss his nose!

Fuzzy and Kim
Next up, we have a special boy named Fuzzy who was adopted from Tabby's Place, which is not only one of my favorite nonprofit organizations, but also the recipient of my $1,000 donation prize from The Petties! In addition to documenting my trip to deliver the check in the next few weeks, I'll also be reporting on their upcoming Catoberfest event, so look forward to hearing even more about this wonderful cat sanctuary coming soon!
Kim writes:
Fuzzy is an extraordinary FIV+ cat that I adopted from Tabby's Place on Valentine's Day, 2010, after writing his sponsorship articles for a year! FUZZY is a handsome, special boy, and helps me to write "The Weekly Update" to the 100 volunteers at Tabby's Place each week, from home. This update keeps everyone up-to-date on adoptions/holds/illness/social news of kitties, etc.
I am called "Scoop," and Fuzzy is called "Assistant Scoop," since he sits on my desk, and helps me to write the update...never misses a writing session!
He also "covers" on the weekends, if there is special news that needs to reach our volunteers...
Fuzzy is about 6 years old, and in addition to being FIV+, he was also receiving insulin while at Tabby's Place, but went into diabetic remission while there. I am very proud to say that he has stayed in remission while living here with me, just with careful diet!
However-he did suffer urinary tract issues. Crystals (had them at TP in his past, too!). Treated-was better; then got blocked. Again, treated, got better.
THEN a few months later, there was something just not right .....I did not want to be too hyper, so monitored him even more carefully. I just could not figure it out, so asked vet to run tests on him...turns out he had a total urinary blockage, and he almost died as a result of it!
My vet had kept him for tests, and was not able to unblock...he had emergency surgery at 11 pm that night, to save his life!
It was a long road to recovery, but now FUZZY is happy, healthy, and thriving again. I love him so! He was VERY popular with the volunteers at Tabby's Place, while there...
He shares his life here at my home with 3 other NON-FIV cats, and 3 Dachshunds! (I do Dachshund rescue work, and specialize in SENIOR Dachshund rescue!)

Sweet Fuzzy is such a lucky kitty in so many ways; Between making his way to Tabby's Place, and then finding his forever home with Kim, it's like he hit the jackpot twice!
A big thanks goes out again to Susan and Kim for sharing their beautiful cats with us this week! I really get so happy seeing these stories coming through my inbox, and hope you all enjoy meeting everyone else's kitties as much as I do!

Great kitties! Michi does look like he has lots of purr-sonality! And Fuzzy sounds like such a sweetheart, so glad he found a great home and is is doing so well.
ReplyDeleteThe story about Fuzzy was ever so touching! Kim shows a true love for him that I wish every animal could experience with their owner.
ReplyDeleteSome very cute kitties indeed!!
ReplyDeleteCongratulation on your win at the Bloggies. We met VERY briefly at BlogPaws. Donating your winnings is such a wonderful thing to do! I am here from the BlogHop and am now following your blog!!
ReplyDeleteHey everybody! Thanks for the catch-up.
ReplyDeleteFight on, Fuzzy! You're a survivor!
ReplyDelete~Slash & Bronzy
They are so cute!! I am so happy that Fuzzy is healthy kitty now :-)
ReplyDeleteI also volunteer at Tabby's and Fuzzy was one of my favorites as I cleaned the FIV suite. I used to say the Fuzzy Wuzzy prose everytime I saw him. When he was rushed for emergency service I changed the Fuzzy Wuzzy prose into a prayer. It worked. He is such a doll and I miss him in the FIV suite but I still hear from him through his updates. He's truly a beautiful (the Brad Pitt of cats) boy inside and out.
ReplyDeleteMichi is quite the looker! And Fuzzy, well, he's a mighty fortunate man cat...
ReplyDeleteThey're so precious. Such sweet faces. It's kitties like these that make Caturday so catastic. haha
ReplyDeleteLovely to meet you Michi and Fuzzy!
ReplyDeleteGreat kitties! Michi looks like my wild tabby son Pasha !
ReplyDeleteI love all felines arround the universe!
Michi and Fuzzy aka Assistant Scoop look like beautiful cats with wonderful personalities!
