UK-based Cats Protection charity questioned more than 1,000 people between the ages of five and 70 to find out some of the most common cat names, in hopes of inspiring new names for the many cats that come into their care. The Telegraph reports that, "instead of Tiddles and Thomas," one emerging trend they discovered is that people are moving away from more traditional titles, and choosing to name their kitties after some of their favorite foods instead.
In addition to "bizarre" names (The Telegraph's words, not mine) such as Ichabod, Laiq and Naquiba, other popular responses included Saffron, Captain Haddock, and the names of Harry Potter characters.
Personally, I enjoy giving my pets people names, but I'm not above naming a future cat Cupcake.
Check out some of the other tasty names that made the list below, and tell me: Is your cat named after a favorite snack?

My cat is named for a food, but I wouldn't call it my favorite snack. My husband is a chef, so when we adopted, I wanted to pick a food/spice related name. Thus, Chili was christened!

My cats are named human names but more than anything I call them both muffin ;)
My kitty's name is Cola from Coca Cola. That is because she is black cat, and I never gave her coke ever, but I like to try, too:) They are really cute!
