There are such things are slow cat news days, and other times when I fear my inspiration has dried up, but the makers of the new writing application Written? Kitten! have devised a powerful motivator to keep the words flowing even when the proverbial well has run dry.
Written? Kitten! thwarts writers block by rewarding you with impossibly cute, fresh kitten pics, but only after you've typed in 100, 200, 500, or 1,000 words (you can set your own limit).
Once you hit the first 100, there's really no stopping there. You'll find yourself saying, "But if I just type in 100 more words, I will get another kitten!" And these aren't just any run of the mill kitten pics. They're high quality fluffy kittens, who gaze at you with their darling little eyes, as if to say, "I believe in you! Keep going!"
I sampled the program myself to type this post, and I'm pretty sure I completed it in record time (the picture you see above was my first reward). In fact, maybe I'm even just typing this sentence and drawing it out a little longer just to see one more kittenface grace my screen. Can you really blame me, though?

What a neat idea! I just tried it, and it really does motivate me to write. Thanks for sharing it!
That is kind of awesome....and very adorable!!
Awesome! I have a 6000 word dissertation to write in the next few weeks so this is perfect :D
Had to try it! Fabulous!! Got one really cute kitten. Thanks for the link!
Love this! Writing with a goal and a reward. Maybe we can invent another type of application. It shows a pix of a cupcake for every 50 words. :)
@Ann Then I would have to keep stopping to go eat something! :]
This is brilliant!
Yeah, yeah, yeah. I already have one of those. Unfortunately mine works in reverse. Koko, say another 30 minutes on PS and I'll have to sit in front of your monitor and be cute, or lie on your tablet so you can't draw, or play with the printer, or walk across the keyboard. Oh wait, those are pictures you're writing about! So what do I do with the real cat, who is staring at me from atop the printer on my desk this very moment? ~^._.^~
just what the doctor ordered! I am feeling rather depressed and burned out...I am going to give this a try! Thanks!
