Tabby Toffee For The Teal Cat Project

Tabby Toffee

If you want my attention, use food. If you want my undying love and affection, use chocolate. Obviously, our friends at the Teal Cat Project know the way into the hearts and pocketbooks of cat ladies like me, as evidenced by their latest collaboration with Lagusta's Luscious, an artisanal vegan chocolate shop located in New Paltz, NY.

For the month of March, if you purchase a box of Tabby Toffee, half of the $20 cost will go towards supporting the efforts of the Teal Cat Project. Founded last year by Isa Chandra Moskowitz, the TCP raises funds for cat rescue organizations by taking old cat tchotchkes and upcycling them into cool new kitty treasures. All of the money they make from the teal painted figures - which come from thrift shops and generous donations - is then donated to their affiliated kitty cat rescue programs.

But back to the chocolates.

If you weren't already sold on these tabbies based on their fine looks, then how about their winnng personalities? After all, it's what's on the inside that really counts - right?

Lagusta's describes the sweets as such:

"Smooth and creamy milk chocolate ganache studded with crunchy toffee pieces, finished with a swirl of butterscotch and encased in a thin dark chocolate shell. 100% vegan, organic, fair-trade, and handmade in our little New Paltz, NY shop. Each box also includes three solid dark chocolate Blue Birds of Happiness, with wings painted with all-natural organic food coloring derived from blueberries."

Those "blue birds of happiness" better fly away fast before I get hauled off to chocolate cat rehab.
