It's Caturday!

Welcome back for a special holiday weekend edition of Caturday, where we catch up on the week's latest cat news and get to meet some of your amazing kitties!

This week, Trooper the cat raised a little hell, Orbital went "Wonky" over kitties, cats went crazy for Don Draper, the Cat Lady Bot Pouch turned up with her kitten posse, Bravo announced plans for an upcoming I Can Has Cheezburger-based reality series, Shironeko's plush doll finally arrived, Julia Child was exposed as a feline fanatic, we got our weekly dose of cat cupcakes, and for 'Around the World in 80 Cats' - we took a trip to the Caribbean island of CuraƧao!

Also, I would appreciate if you considered taking a moment to vote for my cat hair Katy Purry to win best fur creature in FURminator's National Hairball Awareness Day competition! If we win, I'll donate the $1,000 prize to Sayreville Pet Adoption Center, a very deserving non-profit, no-kill shelter located in Sayreville, NJ. You can vote once every 24 hours from now until April 20th on the FURminator Facebook page. The competition is very close at the moment, so every vote counts!

Please click HERE to vote. (You will have to 'Like' the FURminator page on Facebook first). Thank you!

Tucker and Tassie

This week's featured felines come to us from Barbara who wrote in to tell us about her seven-year-old twins Tucker and Tassie, who have been with her since she adopted them from the shelter at ten-weeks-old.

Barbara writes:

I was looking for two kittens at the shelter with my daughter, and they brought these two in with a few others while I was there. I fell in love with Tucker - and Tassie was almost like him. She had a little problem with holding still while their spots were handed out and they didn't come out just right. Tucker's markings are just perfect with his white paws and tuxedo markings. That's how he got his name -- "bib and tucker" if you are old enough to have heard that expression.

Tassie

That left a problem naming Tassie. Looking her over I noticed she was white with a black cape on her back, beginning with a bow at the top and a long black tail, the tassel on the cape! Therefore, she was named Tassie. I tell the story that she put on a black hat, cocked over one ear (thus one black ear and one white ear). She got a little carried away with the beauty spot on her face and made it a bit too big.

These kitties are just so good. They never get into trouble (as long as I keep the plants out of their reach). But I do grow cat grass for them now and then and they like that. They won't eat anything but dry food. When I offer then anything I'm eating they raise a paw and back off as if to say, "What are you doing, trying to poison me?" They won't even eat canned cat food.

Tassie's main job is to escort me to the bathroom. No matter if she is sound asleep she will hear me go in there and she is right there with me. She is always nearby - I think she thinks she is a puppy. Tucker's main job is to keep my bed warm for me.

I live alone and they are great companions.

Curious?

Special thanks to Barbara for sharing her beautiful black and white babies with us this week! She is so lucky to have found such a purrfectly adorable pair!

Wishing a very Happy Easter and Passover to all who celebrate!
