Welcome back for another edition of Caturday, where we catch up on the week's latest cat news, and get to meet some of your amazing kitties!
This week, Henri le Chat Noir pondered the meaninglessness of the universe, Lady Gaga and Chris Colfer adopted cats, John Fulton introduced Anderson Cooper to a swimming kitty, Snoopy took his crown as the internet's latest feline sensation, Hello Kitty got creepy for an unexpected horror movie collaboration, and Marshmallow the kitten melted hearts with her tiny high fives!
Elsewhere, we drooled over the frosted donut cat bed by Keikopet, explored proto-lolcats with the 1950s Ethicon Cat-a-log, reminisced about my first apartment with Priscilla, went around the world in 80 cats to Croatia, and got the "Kitty doesn't like" song stuck in our heads for the rest of eternity.
Also, don't forget to stop by and enter for your chance to win a Mayan Laser Caturday Tote by our friends at Hotline Design Ink! If the world really does end on December 21st, at least you'll go out in style!
And finally, please consider taking a moment to vote for my cat hair version of Katy Perry as your favorite hairball celebrity as part of FURminator's National Hairball Awareness Day Celebration! If we win, FURminator will donate $1,000 to Sayreville Pet Adoption Center in Sayreville, NJ. On Friday, I visited SPAC and got a chance to meet many of the 75 wonderful kitties who call the no-kill shelter home. I'll be sharing some pictures I took on Facebook and Twitter throughout week, so stay tuned!
Voting is open through Friday, April 20th and you can click here to vote once every 24 hours. Thank you to everyone who has already voted in support of this very worthy cause!
Ichigo
This week's featured feline is a self-proclaimed "lounge singer kitty" who loves nothing more than hitting the town in his snazzy bow tie!
Liam and Amanda write:
His full name is Ichigo, but we call him Chi. He is about 18 to 20 months old (not sure as he is rescued), but it is about that. We live in Blackpool on the North West Coast of England, which is also where we got him from.
We have another cat called Carlos who is about 8 months old and the two of them get on very well together. Chi loves nothing better than lounging around, sleeping, and getting his chin rubbed. He is a big fan of food and also watching our fish in the tank for hours on end.
He goes out quite a lot with another cat from down the road, who comes to the back door, sits there till we let him in, has a stroke, and then collects Chi and they go out on the town.
Special thanks to Liam and Amanda for sharing dapper Chi and sweet lil' Carlos with us this week! Lounging, sleeping, and chin rubs? He sounds like my kinda guy!
