Back in February, I was one of the first to report on an oversized Shironeko stuffed doll that was so realistic, you could probably switch it out for the real thing and no one would even notice. A lot of people (myself included) were very interested in purchasing the exceedingly realistic plush rendering of our favorite basket cat, but just like most awesome cat stuff, you're going to have to move to Japan to get your hands on this kitty. (At this point I'm considering just packing up and moving there to start my own cat merchandise export biz).
Thanks to an eagle-eyed reader named Epe, I've learned that the stuffed animal is now available for sale from a Japanese website for the bargain basement price of 13,440 yen (around $160 USD). Much like designer cat fashion, no one ever said that bringing home your favorite internet feline would ever come cheap!

I do love that stuffed kitty, but too expensive for us.
Have a great weekend.

So cute, but it's to expensive, even for us Norwegians.. Hmm, ebay maby? :P
This stuffed kitty sure is cute! I love Shironeko, so cute!
Yeah...it's pretty darn cute, BUT for $160 I could get a real one and feed it for six months or more, LOL.
Plush kitty is cute - but I'd rather spend that money giving it to local cat rescue groups that
find homes for REAL kitties.
Plus, I've seen some very real-like plush cats locally that are a LOT less expensive. (I have one). Just saying........Buy USA
Awww that is soooo adooorable! I would love to have those cute cats! Including that stuffed one! <3
I'm interested in buying at least five Shironeko plushies. But the price for each of them, that's too much!
