It's Caturday!

Welcome back for another edition of Caturday, where we catch up on the week's latest cat news, and get to meet some of your amazing kitties!

This week, we (sort of) celebrated National Hug Your Cat Day, Karl Lagerfeld unleashed his inner crazy cat lady, Styleite rounded up a collection of the best cat fashion editorials, Messy My created cool kitty art, Kristin whipped up some sleepy cat cupcakes, and we discovered Pussy Meow, the unapologetically pink vintage cat fashion doll.

Elsewhere, I spent three days at the BlogWorld & New Media Expo in New York City (I live in NJ, so commuting to NYC on the train each day isn't as glamorous as it sounds), where I took several great courses, and connected with all sorts of interesting media makers from across the country! June is shaping up to be a busy month, and I have a few more exciting events on the horizon, including my upcoming trip to the BlogPaws Pet Blogging and Social Media Conference in Salt Lake City. If you have any tips on what I should see or do in the SLC area (including the all-important cat attractions and/or cupcakery recommendations), drop me a line at catsparella@gmail.com!

And finally, I'd like to extend a warm welcome to my June sponsors, Spyhnx Couture (I'm kind of obsessed with their cat kimono!) and Sweet Pickles' Designs! Be sure to check out both shops if your cat is in the market for the most stylin' kitty threads and collars on the block!

Chloe

This week's tale comes to us from a devoted boyfriend and the kitties who changed him from a reluctant cat owner, to a card-carrying, Caturday submitting, feline enthusiast for life!

Ryan writes:

This is my baby Chloe (black), and Oskar the grey tabby. These pictures were probably taken about a year ago, but Chloe is now 3 and Oskar is 2. They were both rescued from local shelters when they were about a month old. I was never much of a pet person, let alone cats. My girlfriend at the time wanted to get a cat and I agreed, stipulating that she would be in charge of EVERYTHING. Of course having Chloe changed all that. Now three years later, I can't imagine not having them. After a year, we felt like Chloe would benefit from a playmate since we were gone at work all day. So along came Oskar.

Oskar

Chloe is a petite little lady, who is extremely shy but very loving. If I make too loud a noise she will run scared; but then peek her head back and come to me after the big noise is gone. Oskar is very loving, but that's where their similarities end. He will go right up to any one and give them a hello rub. He is a bit of a bully around the food bowl and has a few pounds on him...I call him "the man"... They are usually sleeping on the cat tree or playin outside in my backyard (they are indoor cats but get recess when it's nice out) chasing squirrels and butterflies.

Ain't nothing like a cat-sized sill (kitten and sun puddle sold separately)

Special thanks to Ryan for sharing his petite little lady and "the man" with us this week! If the story of Chloe and Oskar isn't the darn cutest thing ever, I just don't know what it is!
