Noted fluffy animal collector Martha Stewart recently took to her blog to announce the arrival of two all-new adorable flat-faced kittens to her brood: Ch'in, named after after Emperor Ch'in, who ruled China in 221 BC and for whom China gets its name, and Kublai Khan, named after a grandson of Genghis Khan, who became the Mongolian emperor in 1260.
The impossibly poofy Persians join Stewart's now 3-year-old calico Persians, Princess Peony and Empress Tang, as well as Himalayans Bartok and Vivaldi, who in her own words, are "becoming quite old." Stewart also points to the recent passing of her beloved Himalayan, Verdi, as a deciding factor in adding more cats to her clan.
A gallery accompanying the post displays several captioned pictures of the kittens settling into their new home, including one curious shot (above) that demonstrates the unusual way Martha asserts her dominance over ALL species. Say what you want about the domestic diva, but this is one lady who really loves her cats!

Did she adopt them from a shelter or buy them? If not from a shelter, she should consider a shelter as opposed to a store or breeder . The shelter has many unwanted animals that need love
ReplyDeleteShe bought them from a breeder, but I very much agree with your point.
DeleteIt would of made a big difference. Pedigree papers don't mean anything, animals are all the same. In the shelters there are also pedigree animals there too. I have seen beautiful persians and ragdolls. What a shame Martha Stewart, you loving animals so much, you didn't make that your choice. Too bad.
ReplyDeleteMartha loves cats but buys them from a breeder? I'm surprised a blog like Catsparella would say such a thing.
ReplyDeleteAnonymous: While I do believe in and advocate adopting cats over buying them, I do not think it's appropriate to vilify those who decide to do so.
ReplyDeleteBy publishing stories like these you are certainly promoting the trend for pure bred cats.
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry you feel that way, but I disagree. This is an entertainment blog, and I am reporting on a noteworthy figure and her cats.
ReplyDeleteNibbling on a cats to assert one's dominance, that makes soooo much sense, lol! I wonder where the segment on raising the cow, slaughtering it, and feeding it to her offspring appears on ner blog ; )
ReplyDeletewill she also be demonstrating litter box skills?
