Having a rough day? Just one look at the roly poly, dewy-eyed kittens of My Zoetrope, and you won't be able to help but smile. Michelle Cavigliano is the Brooklyn-based illustrator and designer behind the shop, and she is on a mission to create quirky and happy art that she hopes will make people laugh and surprise them with silliness!
Cavigliano explains that the name My Zoetrope came from the Greek words for "life" and "turn." "My Zoetrope is an ever-evolving wheel of my life and the silliness, craziness, prettiness, happiness, and absurdness of it," she says.
I'm always really interested in the unique ways that people choose to interpret cats through art, and was drawn to Michelle's shop because of her unique style that combines super cute illustrations, with bold, inspiring colors and designs. Her work is versatile enough to be hung on the wall as a fine art print, or worn on your body as a temporary tattoo. Also look for her cool kitty paper dolls, pins, custom items, and original notecards, that have me wishing I got more snail mail!
