Nina Rita
This week's featured feline is a gorgeous gal with a bit of a wild side!
Emily writes:
Say hello to Nina Rita! It took a few days to name her because I wanted a name that really fit her personality. Nina was inspired by a Nina Ricci perfume bottle that I have which fit her feminine side. Her nickname Rita soon followed when I saw her split personality come to life.
Starting at a very early age she would without any warning or reason (usually after eating) just start bolting from one side of the room to the other, then from one side of the house to the other. When she would stop to catch her breath, she had this crazy look in her eyes. One of my most loved drinks is a margarita, and her behavior was rather erratic so Rita became her middle name. Once you get to know her, you will see that she is either Nina or “Rita” at all times, there is no in between. When she is feeling extra playful, feisty, or all over the place she is in full blown Rita-mode.
I have had cats all my life but a few years back I did not have one to call my own. It was fate that brought us together the day we met. My sister and I were looking for some aquarium supplies at a local feedstore when we saw a single large cage with a litter of kittens.
Being the person I am I could not resist the temptation. Not only did I want to look, but I was bound and determined to play with one that day too. I opened the door and began deciding which one I wanted to play with, knowing I would fall in love instantly. Before I knew it, Nina was picking me. Her brothers and sisters were clumsily falling on each other or sleeping. Nina walked right up to the door and into my hands. I paid $25 to take her away in a cardboard box and have cherished her ever since.
Nina has been my most prized possession ever since. At 3-years-old her curiosity and playfulness hasn't let up a bit. She loves to get into anything and everything and she is a constant amusement. I am always wondering what Nina (or Rita) will do next. As you can see, she is also extremely photogenic. Nina has helped me elevate my status back up to crazy cat lady in a whole new way. I could post pictures of her all day long, but I don't think I would have many friends left if I did! Thank you for letting me share my baby with you all, hope you enjoy : )
Special thanks to Emily for sharing Nina Rita with us this week!

@Sarah Of course I don't mind! Thanks and Happy Caturday! >^..^<
She's adorable! I'm jealous that your adoption fee was only $25 - I paid the Humane Society $85 for my lil guy. He's definitely worth it, though.
@Erin You know the old saying.."Those who say you can't buy love have never paid an adoption fee." ♥ :)
Aww what a great story. She is so pretty.
