This week's cupcakes were submitted by Tara, who created a festive feline treat just in time for the holidays!
She writes, "My friend Lauryl and I got together recently to make these Christmasy Cat Cupcakes, and we were pretty proud of how they came out! We used some hand-cut out stencils and powdered sugar and then did some red and green frosting accents. You might notice the reindeer/kitty hybrids on a few – that was Lauryl’s stroke of genius. There’s also one that says “MRA?” which is what my cat Henry says when he’s hungry."
Tara also tells me that she's working on a new project called “Surprise Stationery Subscription,” where people can sign up to receive an “elevated envelope" stuffed with fun and beautiful letterpress stationery. 50% of the profit from each sale will go to a different animal-related charity each season, and first up for Spring 2013 is Purrfect Pals, a no-kill cat sanctuary located in Arlington, WA. Check out her website for all the details!
Have you created or spotted any kitty-themed baked goods (or other foods) lately? If so, please submit your sweet tips for Cat Cupcake Tuesdays to catsparella@gmail.com!

Thank you so much for featuring our cupcakes! My only regret is that you were not able to eat any of them yourself. It seems kind of mean now that I think about it ;) Happy December!
Mra...We had such a fun time decorating -- we started out serious and with each cupcake got a little crazier -- kitties with antlers, anyone? Thank you for posting our cupcakes on your wonderful site, AND for talking about Tara's Surprise Stationery Subscription -- Purrfect Pals, like so many great non-profits rescues, fosters, cares for and finds wonderful forever homes for kitty-cats...that's where Tara met and fell in love with her Henry and his bff, Clementine...mew!
