Dixie and Gus
This week's featured felines are a brother and sister pair, who share a family resemblance, but couldn't differ more when comes to their purrsonalities!
Alyssa from Two-Thirds Scarlett writes:
These are our babies, Gus (gray) and Dixie. We picked them up when they were two months old. My husband was a Marine and we were stationed at Camp Lejeune. Everyone said you don't leave Lejeune without babies...and we didn't! They brought so much love and laughter into our lives when we were away from home and from our families.
Gus is a mama's boy for sure. He's the more photogenic of the two and never seems to mind having his picture taken. He's our "scaredy-cat" and leaves the discovering to his sister. He is a cuddler through and through and loves to be as close to your face as physically possible. We've figured out that he is VERY jealous and protective of Mama. The only time he's ever hissed was when I was holding an actual baby. With babies being the next stage in our life (not pregnant yes, just planning), I'm not sure how ole' Gus is going to take to having a new little brother or sister.
Dixie is our dare-devil! (and Daddy's favorite even if he would never admit it.) I don't believe she's afraid of anything. We joke that if these two were wild cats, Dixie would be the hunter and Gus would be in trouble. She's playful and always bright-eyed. She's independent and SO not the jealous type. She rarely ever sits still long enough for me to take her picture.
It's amazing to me how two cats form the same litter can have such different and distinct personalities!
Special thanks to Alyssa for sharing the tale of her gorgeous fur-babies with us this week!
