It's Caturday!

Welcome back for another edition of Caturday, where we catch up on the week's latest cat news, and get to meet some of your amazing kitties!

This week, we learned the story of Toldo, a loyal Italian kitty who visits his owner's grave every day, Evan, a philanthropic 10-year-old who donates his allowance to cat rescue, and Street Pussy, a UK-based blog dedicated to the fine art of feline photography. Elsewhere, Rusty's human celebrated getting his splint removed with custom cat cupcakes, Architects for Animals created hip houses for homeless cats, Marc by Marc Jacobs had us feline chic for spring, and an English moggy named Margaret geared up to celebrate her 25th birthday next week!

Also, my appearance on "The Dr. Oz Show" aired on Tuesday, and I want to thank everyone for the positive responses I've received so far! In cased you missed it, read all about my experience, and see the clip of me giving Dr. Oz a kitty litter facial here.

And finally (whew!), there's still time to enter for your chance to win a cool kitty cat clock by Purrfidious! I'm drawing the lucky winner this Tuesday, Jan 15!

Jefferson

This week's featured felines come to us from Lisa, who is super excited to share her furry friends with us this week!

She writes:

Jefferson is a rescued stray who found us on the 4th of July, hence the name. He is about a year old (best guess since he's a former stray) who is very playful, loves shaky mice (the rattle-y small ones?) and rubber bouncy balls in particular, and is an all-around good guy. He loves being picked up and carried around and is currently learning to walk on a leash so we can go outside together. He thinks he's the sheriff around here and chases the others around the house (he thinks he's playing-- they're not always sure). He does have severe renal damage from something he got into when he was a stray, so he has to take medication twice a day, but he's super good about it. I don't think he knows he's sick (shh... don't tell him); he sure doesn't act like it.

Scooter

Scooter is a rescued stray by proxy -- I took in his pregnant mother and kept her and all her kittens. He is 3 1/2 years old and mostly interested in soft treats, handouts from the dinner table (especially parmesan cheese), and taking naps. He's got an almost identical twin sister named Tuesday that he spends a lot of time with, too. He's a terrible cabinet climber but loves to do it anyway.  He's also very proficient at pulling at the wrong side of the kitchen cabinet door to try to get inside. His favorite place to nap is in a large bowl on the kitchen island.

Tuesday

Scooter's sister, Tuesday, loves to steal plastic wrap and thinks she's some sort of pin-up girl with her poses, and Hitchens (a rescue from a shelter) is 7-years-old and a full 20 pounds of big, goofy, loving, oafy cat.

Hitchens

Special thanks to Lisa for sharing Jefferson, Scooter, Tuesday, and Hitchens!
