Welcome back for another edition of Caturday, where we catch up on the week's latest cat news, and get to meet some of your amazing kitties!
This week, Seth MacFarlane's cat reviewed his Oscar hosting performance, Jennifer Lawrence was a (reluctant) cat lady, gray kitty cupcakes got the glitter treatment, and I rounded up the 21 best tweets about cats watching the Academy Awards!
Elsewhere, we met two rescue kitties turned cat actors vying for the role of Holly Golightly's cat in "Breakfast at Tiffany's on Broadway," and got tips from an expert cat trainer on how your own feline can break into the biz!
Also, don't sleep on this week's awesome giveaway (or do?!?). Enter for your chance to win a Cat Nap Pillowcase Set from Xenotees! I'm drawing the lucky winner this coming Tues. 3/5!
And finally, lemme take a minute to give a quick meow-out to my February and March sponsors: Tom & Tungsten Custom Pet Portraits, AmazeCats, Mod Petlife, Custom Portraits by Studio Legohead, Georgia's Gifts, Portraits of Animals, Hey Kitty Kitty, Whoa! That's Bright, Grace, Jack & Magical Cats Cozy Mystery Boxed Set, and Sweet Pickles' Designs!
These lovely, cat-centric businesses are part of what help keep Catsparella going, so if you're in the market for some cool kitty gear, please consider checking them out!
GLaDOS
This week's featured feline is a gorgeous tortie girl, who moonlights as a dangerous assassin in her spare time!
Sarah writes:
This is GLaDOS, named after an evil robot from the game Portal. My boyfriend and I took her in as a stray when she was about 4 months old, and she immediately fit right into our little family. She loves to be held and will even let you hold her like a baby and let you rub your face in her belly fur. She surely is a purr-box! She also likes to lick people's hands and especially their lips! Really she will lick any part of you. She is very affectionate.
GLaDOS enjoys ripping up cardboard boxes and putting her paws in literally anything she can reach. If there is a cup of water sitting out, we have to watch it because the second we turn away she puts her paws in it and touches the water! She even lets me dress her up and make videos of her! Oh! She also loves to watch Animal Planet and videos of herself. She is truly a blessing, and I could not ask for a better companion.
Here is a video I made of her dressed up as an assassin from the game Assassin's Creed. In the video she trains to be an assassin (really she just plays around in her little outfit I made for her).
Assassin Kitty
Special thanks to Sarah for sharing her fearless feline with us this week!
